Aerosol Box Project

As COVID-19 became a part of our everyday reality in March of 2020 Verdant became aware of a request from a local frontline intensivist for acrylic boxes to protect hospital staff from aerosolized particles released during the intubation process for critical patients. Working pro bono, we initiated and managed a project to provide our neighbors in healthcare with this simple piece of protective equipment, collaborating locally with the Scott Family Amazeum, the Roark Group, and Mr. Plastic on design, fabrication, and distribution of the aerosol boxes. The project was supported financially by seventeen individuals and businesses, and by the end of April eighty-five aerosol boxes had been fabricated and distributed to hospitals and EMT units across Arkansas.
